Proposed electrical substation and transmission lines in Catoosa and Walker

The most important thing we can do as citizens is to participate in public debate.

If a substation is built in our community, will it bring sprawling suburbs to our rural farm and pasture land?

How can we be sure new facilities are needed, and are being planned in the best possible manner?

Economics may lead to this project failing to get built.

Walker County wants to develop a large industrial park, and new residential zones, but they are asking to raise existing citizens’ taxes, while simultaneously offering tax incentives to prospective employers and developers.

Why should Catoosa citizens bear the external costs of this project? Will Catoosa and the state be hunting for tax increases as well? Why should current citizens pay the bills for economic speculation by governments and utilities?
